About this therapy
Weight management at Arogyam Sutra focuses on sustainable habits: nourishing food, regular movement, sleep and stress care.
Diet therapy can be combined with body-contouring therapies offered at the clinic. Your consultant will explain what each involves before you begin.
What to expect
- Personalised diet therapy
- Body-contouring therapies
- Habit and routine coaching
A steady, habit-based approach
Weight management at Arogyam Sutra is about habits you can keep: food that satisfies, regular movement, enough sleep and calmer stress. Crash diets often lead to weight coming back, so the plan focuses on small, lasting changes rather than quick fixes.
The World Health Organization describes overweight and obesity as an abnormal or excessive build-up of fat that may harm health, and notes that the risk of conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and joint problems rises with it. For many Indian adults, extra weight around the waist is an especially important sign to watch.
What a plan may include
- Diet therapy. A personalised eating plan built around home-style Indian meals, portion awareness, fibre, protein, meal timing and fewer ultra-processed snacks and sugary drinks.
- Movement. Yoga, walking and strength-building suited to your fitness and joints.
- Body-contouring therapies. Traditional treatments such as udwartana, a brisk massage with dry herbal powders, and other clinic therapies, explained by your consultant before you begin. These are supportive and are not a substitute for diet and activity.
- Sleep and stress care. Short sleep and ongoing stress are linked with appetite changes and weight gain, so relaxation, breathing and a regular routine are part of the plan.
- Regular reviews. Simple measures such as waist size, energy, sleep and how clothes fit, alongside weight.
Your first visit
Your consultant asks about your weight history, typical meals, hunger and cravings, activity, sleep, medicines and any medical conditions such as thyroid problems, PCOS or diabetes. Some medicines and conditions affect weight, so please bring recent blood reports if you have them.
Realistic expectations
The clinic does not promise a number of kilos in a set time. Bodies respond differently, and weight can fluctuate from day to day. Health guidance such as the NHS suggests aiming for gradual, steady loss through a balanced diet and regular activity, because that is what tends to last.

Frequently asked questions
How much weight will I lose?
The clinic does not promise a set number of kilos. Your plan focuses on steady, sustainable habits, and progress is reviewed with you regularly.
Do I have to give up Indian food?
No. Plans are built around familiar home-style meals, with changes to portions, ingredients, timing and snacks rather than an unfamiliar diet.
What is body contouring here?
It refers to supportive traditional therapies such as udwartana (a dry herbal powder massage) offered alongside diet and movement. Your consultant explains exactly what each involves before you begin. They are not a replacement for diet and activity.
Can you help if I have thyroid problems or PCOS?
Yes, a plan can be adapted around these conditions, alongside your doctor's treatment. Please keep taking prescribed medicines and bring recent reports.
Is exercise compulsory?
Regular movement is an important part of the plan, but it is chosen to suit your fitness, joints and schedule. Gentle yoga and walking are common starting points.
